For Donna, here is the green room (eccentric lime, to be exact).
The dresser was in my parents' laundry room for as long as I can remember growing up. It was painted white. Removing the numerous layers of paint and stain was my first refinishing project ever. The glass knobs are original. My mom says it belonged to my great-great grand something.
ECCENTRIC LIME: Benjamin Moore paints. I first saw this color in the Piazza store in downtown Summerville. One of the rooms was painted this color, and I fell in love with it. The room was a denim blue before I painted it. Seemed like a huge mistake when I was on coat #2, but it's my favorite room now.
The black evening dress hanging on the door was purchased at an auction at my favorite house in Orangeburg. The purses along the top of the wall are ones I have collected over the years from thrift stores and other places. The light fixture is the old brass dining room light we took down. A coat of spray paint and little shades is all it took.
The slipper chair was purchased for $20 at an auction. Everything else had been sold, and this chair was never put up. I asked about it after the auction, and they took $20. I re-upholstered it with the black and star fabric. AND what room is complete without a tiger wearing a fez?
