Couple Things....

First:
Lovey's job needs to start soon.... I think L can relate to this story:
Yesterday I was prepared to complete some house projects I'd been thinking about all week.

Him: I'm going to take a shower.

Me: Oh. What are you going to do today? Are you going somewhere?

Him: I don't know. Something! I've been sitting home all week.

The problem: I've been working all week and looking forward to doing nothing much outside of the house if possible. Well, until I had to drive to the boonies for a bridal shower today.

How is it that the weeks get longer and the weekends get shorter? Which leads to......

Second:
I really think this isn't what I want to be when I grow up. If I had stayed in my major in college, I'd now be an architect, but I also would never have met Lovey. Damn Butterfly Effect....

So here I sit with a head full of color and design and re-purposing. I've ordered calling cards for my fledgling new career; now I just need to grow the balls to get moving!

And just now.....I thought of the most obvious....and perfect.....name for my business! I thought of The Color Wheel, but this one is much more me. If you can guess it, text me or dot.com me.

My cards should be in next week! Yay!

Ain't She A Beauty?

With all this talk of CTS-Vs and Z-o6s and other cars with letter and number combinations for names, I thought, "What about me?" Shouldn't I get something new, too?

So Lovey says OK......I get something shiny and new, also.

We looked at different models yesterday, decided on one and brought it home.

&

I love her.

I have wanted one forever, and finally she is mine.

She is sleek...........

and silver..........

and faster than my old one.

Ain't she a beauty?

You Win This Time, Meter Maid

Great invention: debit swipe cards on the parking meters in downtown Charleston

Poor invention: badly marked location of swipe cardy things on meters. Yes, I paid the for the guy beside me to sightsee two more glorious hours. Not the worst $14 I've ever spent.

Going Off the Grid

SCSchmee&G and I have not been friends for a while. I am convinced that instead of reading my electric meter each month, they throw a dart at a giant dart board to determine my charges. There is No.Other.Way to explain how the charges vary up and down like a rollercoaster.

Last Friday (and Saturday) severed our relationship.

Because as beautiful as this

and this

and this

may be....

I cannot see how I was without the lifeblood of electricity for

FOURTEEN FREAKIN' HOURS!!!

Geez! There are only so many layers a person can put on. Roughing it for me is when cable goes out, not ALL OF THE ELECTRICITY.

That's it.....K's Barbie Dream House is going off the grid. Alternative energy is the answer. I think Gilligan had the right idea when he pedalled the bamboo bike to run the radio.

Project Time!

First of all, the bichons like each other just fine. That means we will have a houseguest in about a week for a week.

Now, the big stuff.....

I'm helping plan a wedding!!! I am so excited, but nervous at the same time. A girl's wedding is the biggest day of her life. I know howeasy it is for someone to really eff it up. (Sorry for the language implication, Mom. You know who I'm talking about).

So I've been thinking and looking and thinking some more. Here are a few of my ideas so far.

I started with my Le-le's china choice:

This is chirp by Lenox. I love the turquoise on the dinner plate and the sweet little (love!) birds on the salad plate.

After all, Pantone has selected Turquoise as the 2010 Color of the Year.

See, told you so.

Look at the cute invitations I found at weddingthings.com!

And these cupcakes from Martha Stewart (who else?).

I don't have a picture of Le-le's wedding dress, but it is ethereal and floaty and faerie-like. Kind of like her.

I would love to see her with a birdcage veil like Reese Witherspoon in Sweet Home Alabama.

Wow...she's tiny. Look close!

I lerve these shoes!

Ahhhh, vintage......

Here are the bridesmaid dress options, both by David's Bridal:
In clover...

And in Kelly....

I'm thinking....how about a sash in this ribbon?

And look at these cute shoes!!!

These are Jym by Nine West

For the guys, I'd probably put them in a navy suit, not harsh black.

For ties, we have this one......

Or this pretty one.....

or this one.....

or not...I'll have to think on that one.

I'll end this post with my favoritest bird item so far:

Screw this wedding stuff! I want these for me! How adorable are they?

Wow...so much to think about.....music......flowers....the cake....the food.......the site....the ceremony...the happily ever after........

Need To Know Basis

Ever had one of these conversations?

Me: So X has a girlfriend?

Him: That's what he said.

Me: What's her name?

Him: I don't know.

Me: He's your best friend!

Him: Yeah, we didn't really talk about it.

Or

Him: X and his wife had their baby.

Me: What did they have?

Him: I think it was a girl (or boy).

Me: What is her (his) name?

Him: I didn't ask.

Me: How much did she (he) weigh?

Him: I don't know.

Today's conversation:

Him: That couple we saw walking their dog called. We're going to keep their bichon for a week while they are out of town.

Me: What are their names?

Him: I don't know. They're bringing the dog by tomorrow for us to meet it.

Alright.

2066 Days

I've never been a big fan of Valentine's Day. It is so contrived. Why should I only take one day of the year to tell the person/people I love that I love them? One day a year when you make an effort to be nice to each other? FAIL!

But here is my Valentine sentiment to Lovey this year...

This week, my little Le-le asked me to help her plan her Fall wedding. (I love a project!) As I was looking around for inspiration photos on The Knot, I tried logging in. On my home page, it said that Lovey and I have been married 2066 days! That sounds HUGE! But it was kind of cool at the same time.

There are days that Lovey really gets on my nerves. *Cough* x-box *Cough* I have been known to look at the dogs when they are scaredy from his yelling at a video game and saying, "It's OK. You know he's a jackass sometimes". Or when we get ready to go out to eat and he GETS ON THE COMPUTER OR CALLS SOMEONE. Really? I'm the girl. I'm supposed to be the one he is waiting on. Whew...glad I got that out.

I know I'm not the easiest person to live with either. I hate hanging up my clothes and I'm a clutter bug. (I'm trying to fix that part). I know there are times that Lovey looks at me sometimes and thinks "What the hell? Where did that come from?"

Anyway, I guess we're lucky that those times are few and hopefully far between.

I love that he asks me how my day was every day when I come home.

I love that he takes the garbage out.

I love that he loves my Dyswoon vacuum and isn't afraid to use it.

I love it that he gets up in the morning and gives Mizz Blanca her medicine.

In a nutshell, I love him - xbox and all.
