Love Him Thiiiissss Much!

The proof is in the pudding....or pie....or cobbler.

Why else would I spend all day Sunday baking? First up: tomato pie. Raved about by Lovey since he ate at Aunt Bea's in Park Circle.

Just look at this:

AH-MAIZE-ING!

Here's the heart-attack inducing topping:

One cup of mayonaisse (Dukes, naturally!) + one cup of mozzarella cheese + one cup of cheddar cheese = 911.

Look at this golden goodness:

Next up, blackberry cobbler. Lovey loves him some blackberries. I hates me some blackberries mostly due to the seeds. Yuck!

And after:

Do you even know how hard it is to get cobbler on a spoon without the blackberries? Kinda hard but it CAN be done.

And how much did Lovey love it? Enough to be devastated when I took the last piece of tomato pie to work with me.

Fabric Love

So I'm now obsessed with finding fabric for Old Ugly.

First stop: Hancock Fabrics.

This pretty blue was pulled out from under a massive pile of remnants. 4 yards at $3.50 = CHEAP! But alas, not for O. U. This is going to make its way into the Computer Room.

On to GDC Summerville. I now have about enough fabric swatches to make a baby quilt. Voila!

The only problem is.......I want to break out of green. I love it. Hence, all of the samples. But...not for this project.

I have one yard of this on its way from a cute etsy store:

John Dewberry's Modern Meadow in Napsack $8!

There's so much cute stuff on this site!

Amy Butler Daisy Chain Mosaic Olive

Laura Gunn Dogwood Stripe Spice

Tanya Whelan Dolce Whelan Blue

Then there is Mod Green Pod. Organic fabric is a little pricey.

Persimmon Seed $39.75/yd

Clara Cream, same price

Grand Jubilee Chocolate. Sigh.....

Chain Dot in Garden (this one snuck onto Fabric Worm!)

Fabric Emporium in Mt. P on Friday to take another look at a swatch I picked up last week. Surely, I can find something there, right? Right?

Dearest Schmelta,

Let me begin this post by saying....I am Worst Case Scenario Girl. I'm not proud of it; it's just true. If I'm worried about something, I will go to the worst possible conclusion and work back to happiness and flowers. Which leads me to tonight......

I am in the shower following my workout (yes, I said workout). I hear the phone ring over the blaring ipod.

When I get out of the shower, I see an 800 number listed on the caller ID. I would normally assume that it is Bank of America thanking me for being SUCH a good customer (I'm really not) that they are *rewarding* me with a new credit card. This number isn't familiar though. Being me, I decide to Google it.

The number belongs to Delta Airlines. Now, normally, I wouldn't think twice if an 800 number shows up from Delta Airlines. But tonight....my Lovey is FLYING DELTA AIRLINES AND DELTA AIRLINES IS CALLING ME AT HOME!!!!!!

Take a look at that first line of this post......I'll wait.....you know where my mind went.

So I call the number back and get this: "Thank you for calling Delta Airlines. Due to our unusually high call volume, we are unable to take your call at this time". Because in my mind, of course, all other relatives of passengers are calling to find out the status of their loved ones on this flight. (I'm crazy. Never denied it.)

After a few minutes, I call back and go through the "press 1" gauntlet in order to speak to a Real Live Human. I didn't expect her to give me any detailed information so I didn't ask for it.

However, after explaining to the Nice Customer Service Lady that I was a worrier (*cough* understatement *cough*) she checked for our last name and checked the flight statuses from Houston to Atlanta to Charleston. Yes, my Lovey's flight has taken off from the Houston-George Bush airport and is in route. Then she see that Yes! the flight from ATL to CHS is indeed delayed by one hour so that MUST be why Delta called me.

I really need to start getting flight numbers from Lovey so I can track his progress through the friendly skies. I could save myself some valuable freak-out time.

Hello, Old Ugly!

This is Old Ugly.

Lovey has had Old Ugly since I've known him. It used to be his computer chair. It has gone from the Green Room to the dining room where it sits lonely and homely in a corner. On Monday, I passed by O. U. and stopped. Could I be seeing what I thought? Was O. U. offering me a peek of its past? Here is what I found.

OH. MAH. GAH! Awesome! This opens up sooo many more possibilities for you, Old Ugly. Fabric! Fabric! I need fabric! And paint! But what to do? Hmmm.

Extreme Chair Makeover coming soon!

Birthday Loot!

42 has come and gone without even a post about My Birthday Week Gifts To Myself. I'll get to that. First, here are some of my birthday shopping trip purchases.

Behold, the J. Crew Tweed Contessa Dress. Marked DOWN to $119 on the J. Crew Website. No, I didn't get it. Why? 'Cause Me So Cheap!

I got this:

Banana Republic Outlet. Originally priced at $99, marked down to $47 – then an additional 40% off. Stolen by me for $28.

Clea Platforms by J. Crew. Website: $168.

Banana $59, got them for $19!!!

Can't find the J. Crew version of the Ruffled Tank, but here is my $49 marked down – blah blah blah – to $12.

It's kind of hard to tell, but there are different tiers of chiffon down the front. The perfect little tank to wear to work since the humidity has already hit triple digits!

Alas, that's the damage. I'm sure more would have been done, but Lovey's plane landed. Thanks, Delta. My Gapcard thanks you, too!

Saving Some Monies

Ross Dress for Less. What can I say? Love it for the home accessories department, love the occassional shoe find (black platform Nine Wests for $9.99 what?????). I usually stear clear of the clothing sections (especially the junior section - helllo, Jersey Shore!)

Yesterday, I ran in to see if they had some cheap pet beds. I found 2 little round ones for $7.99 each. Awesome!

I stopped in the intimates because I have had *some* luck finding my odd bra size. I looked around and hit the jackpot. There on the bottom rack...in the wrong size...was my bra!

I love these Wacoal bras.

Soft cup, wide range of sizes. This one is $42 via Amazon. I have a nude one and a black one in the front close racerback. I put another one on my annual birthday list. There it was....just waiting for me....for $12.99! Shut the front door! Do not think I didn't scour that place for duplicates.

My Lovey has issues with the Ross. Not from personal experience, from this clip which is high-larious!

And yes, he did ask me where I found the bra. And yes, I told him in the toy section.
